? ? ? ? On 18 May 2022, Nepal urgently reported to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) the occurrence of African swine fever in six farms in Bagmati province between 19 March and 14 April. The susceptible animals involved were 1426 domestic pigs, of which 1364 became ill and 934 died. In order to protect the safety of Animal husbandry in China and prevent the introduction of the epidemic, the announcement is hereby made in accordance with the customs Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on The Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and its implementation Regulations and other relevant laws and regulations:

? ? ? ? I. Direct or indirect import of pigs, wild boar and their products from Nepal is prohibited.

? ? ? ? II. It is forbidden to send or carry pigs, wild boars and their products from Nepal into China. Once found, they will be returned or destroyed.

? ? ? ? III. Animal and plant wastes and swill unloaded from aircraft, road vehicles, railway trains and other means of transport from Nepal shall be treated by the Customs under the supervision of disinfection and disinfestation, and shall not be discarded without authorization.

? ? ? ? IV. Pigs, wild boars and their products from Nepal intercepted and illegally entered by border defense departments shall be destroyed under the supervision of the Customs.

? ? ? ? V. Any violation of the above regulations shall be dealt with by the Customs in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Customs Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and its implementation regulations.
